Fluidigm BioMark HD. A lab instrument that uses IFC (Integrated Fluidics Circuits) for automated PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction, sometimes called "molecular photocopying") of DNA samples for life science research. The goal was to provide a visually appealing and consumer-like look for a product that would otherwise carry the stigma of a boring "lab" product. The design focused on breaking apart the larger surfaces into areas on interaction versus areas of non-interaction. This created a visual that helped make the product look smaller and more appealing than what it really is.
