A heart monitoring in-ear headphone concept done for client, Valencell. Valencell's IP, a compact bio-metric sensor, allowed for applications inside small wearable items like an in-ear headphone. The design focused heavily on 1) human factors for proper ear fit and 2) optimum placement of the sensor for maximum contact to the ear for sensor measurements. Design inspiration came mostly from sports and active lifestyle themes with material finishes to match. The final design proved successful as it helped Valencell procure additional investment funding and became a reference design for Valencell customers.
